Interventions were made to this G+3 residence mid-construction, increasing room sizes where needed, particularly the kitchen and living room. The unique layout, angled at 45° to the road, had dead spaces in and around the house that were challenging to repurpose meaningfully. Keeping in mind the limitations of modifying a partially completed structure, room sizes were balanced out according to their respective functions.

The use of terracotta blocks in the walls and ceiling called for a subtle interior palette; a departure from the norm. Dark wood and kota stone complement the reds & oranges of the terracotta, while small amounts of white surfaces provide a break from the bold colors.

The finalized design is inspired by the clients, who are the perfect embodiment of traditional values mixed with contemporary living. With classic South-Indian heritage elements and large openings that allow plenty of light & ventilation, the vibrant design is both functional & aesthetic.
